Every Bridgeway state except Tennessee has coastal exposure — and every coastal BOP carries a separate named-storm wind deductible of 2% to 5% of the insured value. A $500,000 build-out with a 5% deductible means $25,000 out of pocket before the carrier pays anything after a hurricane. Florida applies wind deductibles statewide under Fla. Stat. § 627.701; Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia apply them by county. Residual markets (Citizens FL, LA Citizens, NC Beach Plan, Alabama Beach Pool) fill the gap where admitted carriers withdraw.
