Not by parts delay alone. Louisiana is a 75% threshold state: if the estimated repair cost is equal to or greater than 75% of the vehicle’s market/ACV (as determined by sources like NADA), the insurer must declare it a total loss under La. R.S. 32:702; otherwise, parts unavailability by itself doesn’t require totaling. If a vehicle is totaled, title handling follows La. R.S. 32:707 (salvage-title procedures after settlement).
